Role Overview

This is a hands-on role with broad exposure across financial reporting and operations, where you will take ownership of key elements of the month-end close. Day to day, you’ll be preparing journals, reviewing financial performance, and working with stakeholders across the business to ensure costs are accurately recorded and understood.

Alongside core reporting, you’ll play a key role in strengthening financial controls, owning balance sheet reconciliations, and identifying opportunities to improve processes and data quality. The role also offers exposure to wider finance activities, including supporting financial statements, contributing to audits and regulatory reporting, and getting involved in ongoing projects to enhance systems and ways of working. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step beyond transactional finance, gain broader experience, and make a tangible impact within a changing and evolving finance function.

The minimum criteria for this role are:
  • Part qualified and actively studying towards a recognised professional accountancy qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ACA)
  •  Experience working in a finance environment, with exposure to month-end processes
  • Experience of preparing journals, accruals and prepayments, and working with general ledger data
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with good attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to handle financial data effectively
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
